LOMBARDY REGION, PROVINCE OF LODI, CHAMBER OF COMMERCE OF THE PROVINCE OF LODI SUBSCRIBED THE AGREEMENT PLAN FOR THE TERRITORIAL DEVELOPMENT FOR THE AREA OF LODIGIANO

The President of the Lombardy Region Roberto Formigoni, the President of the Province of Lodi Lino Osvaldo Felissari, the Mayor of Lodi Lorenzo Guerini, the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Lodi Enrico Perotti, and the District Councilior Franco Nicoli Cristiani signed the Agreement for the Plan of Territorial Development (AQST), to realize a programme of activities and interventions in the Province of Lodi. In the seat of the Region in Lodi local Authorities, Mayors and bargaining units attended to the signature of the AQST
For the First Plan of Action, a sum of 426 millions of euros has been allocated. The 90% of these resources is already available thanks to a joint commitment: Lombardy Region, Province, Commune, Chamber of Commerce of Lodi and other partecipants are engaged in the realization of 36 projects, 24 already begun and 12 are putting into effect. The Second Plan of Action, whose economic plan is still uncertain, includes great works, like the TEM, the surface underground and other plans.

The President of the Province Lino Osvaldo Felissari declared: “With this segnature, we reached an outcome that confirms that we worked well. First of all, the Communes cooperated to elaborate a vision of our territory that connects tradition and innovation, the defence of our environmental resources and the support of the productive system. This action document integrates with the Strategic Plan of the Lodigiano Development, that synthetizes the socioeconomic features of our territory, the perspective of growth and the next projects that Province, Chamber of Commerce, Communes, local enterprises, bargaining units and no profit societies will carry out”.
To implement the local inclinations, the Agreement Plan approves some great projects which works are already started: the University Pole in Lodi; the multi-purpose centre for the support of the craftmade production in San Grato; the start of the project “AGR.IN.FORM.” in cooperation with the Province of Cremona and the instructive Pole for the agroindustrial sector. In the environmental field, the Agreement Plan foresees precautionary measures for the rivers Adda and Po floods. Moreover, it reaffirms the engagement for the ‘Big Plain Forest’, a plan that will create a big green lung in Lodi. Then, Millions of Euros will be used to increase the cultural patrimony attracting tourists. For example, the circumference of the walls of the city of Lodi and the “Underground Lodi”; the finishing of the restoration works of the Gavazzi Castle in Somaglia; the valorization of the Morando Bolognini Castle in Sant’Angelo and the ancient “Laus Pompeia” in Lodi Vecchio; the amplification of the Communal Theatre of Lodi and the creation of the journey museum. Other initiatives concerning the public utility and the requalification of the degraded areas are forecast.
