In fact, the Provincial Executive approved the Plan of Food Communication and Training for the activity period between September 2007 and August 2008. This Plan takes part in the Regional Plan “Food Communication and Training”, but it is characterized for its will to spread a more general knowledge that concerns the Lodigiano territory and its rural inclination.
The appointed Member of the Provincial Executive for Agriculture Fabrizio Santantonio says: “Our aim is to tell about our typical local products and the sources of their production: a narration that goes further on the nourishment: it extends on a representation of the territory in a cultural and socioeconomic key. For this reason, we tried to combine the supply of informations for the students about the agriculture of Lodi with an increase of the consciousness of them as consumers. We will use a communication based on an active learning, realised directly in the backgrounds as farms and transformation installations. Here the production processes under the guidance of qualified and careful organisers”.
The proposed activities have the objective to deepen the subject of nutrition and the source of food through trainings, meetings, teaching activities in the schools, conducted tours to farms. In the last years, “Schools on field”, the Plan of Feeding Communication and Training has been suggested to the scholastic institutions of the territory and it took a great importance, testified by the encouraging data of the last edition, which attended 400 classes of the Province. By virtue of this outcome, the Provincial Management wants to increase the presences to the offered activities, involving also the Secondary and High schools and proposing new projects. In particular, the Province wants to give a leading role on the environmental themes, turning upon the precious resource of the Great Plain Forest of Lodi.
