THE CHURCH St’Christopher’s is a single - nave Church, like many other 400th century churches, built by the Olivetani order (e.g. St. Vittore al Corpo di Milano Church). The Church is characterized by a cross vault ceiling which covers the single – nave and by three side chapels on each side. A semicircular apse, where the monk’s high-backed chair used to be located, closes its wide choir. A wide dome with drum and windows is inserted in the crossing between the transept and the choir.
The two – storey monastery is close to the right side of the church; it is characterized by a square courtyard and by a portico. In its structure it is quite similar to the Liceo Verri in Lodi, which probably has been built by the same architect, Pellegrino Tibaldi. In 1998, three years after its establishment, the Province of Lodi, with the President of the Cabinet’s consent, bought San Cristoforo’s and San Domenico’s ex-monasteries and estates in order to move there its seat....gif){kind=small}
